Our October 3 Empowering Youth Forum saw 56 people join us to hear from a number of young Gold Coasters our club has invested in. 27 members, 8 “potential” members and 21 guests were inspired by the youth that presented.
Thank you also to John Campbell, Julian Field and Gareth Hunt for sharing your passions for Rotary Youth Programs

Thank you to our Youth Team Suzy Foskett, Melissa Neilsen & Kathy Hogan who coordinated this event and with the support of other members including Lyn MacArthur who have driven our youth service activities. To those who have put up their hand to help make this happen, thank you and to those who have to commit to a project or program, if you would like to join fellow members in our Youth Service program to make lasting change that is good for all those youth we connect with, do it today.

Thursday, October 17 is our Rotary International & Rotary Foundation Forum. John D’Anna and Tammi Mayfield are coordinating this. Great opportunity for all members and potential members to hear how the Rotary Foundation is funding Rotary programs and projects to have maximum impact around the word. We will also hear about Shelterbox and the role it plays proving emergency relief following natural disasters around the globe.
We will also hear from Members Behind The Badge Ana Alexander and Andrew Beshara providing a snapshot of their life and career and why Rotary is important to them.
And we will be inducting 2 new members to bring us to 60 members strong. I am hoping that all 60 members can join us to celebrate this milestone. RSVP by Friday, 11 October to mark_urq@yahoo.com.au or  0411 693 814

The Rotary Foundation is responding to disasters
Introducing our new Disaster Response Fund
Dear Rotary Foundation Leader,

When disaster strikes, Rotarians around the world come together as people of action to help those in need. To support communities in their rebuilding efforts, The Rotary Foundation is proud to announce our new Disaster Response Fund. Donations to the Disaster Response Fund help Rotary clubs provide disaster recovery and support relief efforts where the need is greatest by funding and providing access to disaster response grants.

Learn more about disaster response grants and Rotarians' disaster response efforts below.

Rotary and ShelterBox
Rotary partners with ShelterBox to help survivors of disasters through emergency shelter and related essential aid items.
