Our fourth meeting for 2020 saw 36 members and 9 guests welcome our newest Club members Dan Stevenson, Steve Beckett and Kiah Bastian, taking our membership to 68 active members.

Aldwyn Altuney aka The Media Queen shared the tools needed to gain free publicity.  Greg Bowler and David Baguley presented updates on our two international projects, a medical facility on Pentecost Island Vanuatu and a water project in Guatemala

David Baguley presented priorities for members to help make the Gold Coast Ramble on March 22 the best ever.
 

Our next dinner meeting is  Thursday March 19 from 6pm at Southport Golf Club, the Gold Coast Rotary “Homelessness to Housing” Forum with Guest Speaker Mona Nielsen, Chair of the Gold Coast Homelessness Network and the annual Gold Coast Homeless Connect event staged at Carrara Stadium every year on the first Wednesday in August. Mona will be sharing highlights of the Gold Coast Homelessness Symposium that was held last week. Mona will present the current status of homelessness on the Gold Coast, plans to address this and how Rotary can invest in this to make a real difference in this increasing crises. Bookings are now open at https://www.trybooking.com/BIRUP and close 6pm March 15.

Gold Coast Ramble is on Sunday 22 March now less than 2 weeks away. Rotary District 9640 Conference in Tenterfield is on Friday 27 to Sunday 29 March  There is no cost for Members to attend this Annual Conference and you only pay for the meals you require during the days and evenings. Check out the Rotary District 9640 website. We are hoping that as many members and their partners can attend. The coach trip has been cancelled but if you are intending to go and would like to ride share let me know.

 
 

In April, we will have visiting Rotarians from India on a Friendship Exchange to the Gold Coast. They will attend our dinner meeting on Thursday, 16 April at the Southport Golf Club (6pm). On Friday 17 April we have an evening at Outback Spectacular. This a brand new show for $85 per person for show and 3 course meal with soft drinks (other drinks available to purchase).
