Gold Coast Rotary Bulletin – November 27 Edition
President’s Message
Our November 21 meeting welcomed 27 members and 16 guests to hear from Andrea Simmons from the Australian Anti Ice Campaign and Major David Rogerson from The Salvation Army’s Gold Coast Recovery Services. These two organisations are fighting together on the front line in the battle against drugs and alcohol addiction that adversely affect too many lives in our community and throughout Australia. Members and guests had an opportunity to ask our questions of our guest speakers. Our Club will look to continue our support for their important work.
Thankyou John Davis for sharing as our Member Behind The Badge and for your commitment to Rotary and Community Service. Members and guests can help John and members of the Gold Coast Salvos raise funds for The Salvation Army’s work on the Gold Coast by selling LED candles at the Broadbeach Christmas Carols on Saturday, 14 December, Coolangatta Christmas Carols on Sunday, 15 December or Carols on the Beach at Surfers Paradise on Sunday 22 December. There is also an opportunity to man an aid station at the GC50 Running Festival at Broadbeach on Sunday, December 8. If you are available on any or all of these days (the Carols events from 4pm to 7pm, the GC50 Running Festival for a couple of hours from 5am to 8.30am or 8.30am to 12 noon), please contact John Davis, Kathy Hogan or myself.
We need to confirm names by our Christmas Dinner meeting on Thursday, 5 December
