Bunnings BBQ and RAFFLE Fund Raisers
On the 12th of June we held our second BBQ, which was much more organised thanks to the suggestions of Lisa Locke (a lot of experience from Toowoomba Rotary BBQ’s). The day was extraordinarily successful due to everyone’s contribution to the event. Thanks to all the Members of our Club who worked well together and made for a fun day out. The weather was fantastic, and we resulted in raising $2201 for the Club and we sold out of everything! Well done everyone.

Another measure of the success was the camaraderie between all the Members coming together, working alongside each other, and getting to know each other better. We welcomed new Members Glen and Jessica Ryan who fitted in well.
The new Rotary BBQ aprons looked great and were a fantastic promotion for us.

Thanks to Nev Davis and Chris Glasgow for organising the drinks and ice early in the morning. Special thanks to John and Louise Davis for their corporate support, with a lot of materials and equipment needed to conduct our BBQs professionally.
If you want to be on the list of volunteers to help on the “Sizzle Team” for these BBQ’s, please contact Barry Lane (0414 453233) and let him know – he is always looking for helping hands!

Marion Simon is to be complimented for her initiative in arranging the inaugural “Raffle” just inside the front door of Bunnings – the raffle table, banners and Club flyers made for a professional table which allowed for more ways to interact with the public and promote our Club’s programs and events. The raffle raised $355 and was such a success that we have decided to have one each BBQ event.

There are a lot of generous people in the community and at the BBQ and Raffle, we experienced a lot of people giving us positive feedback about the work we do locally and donating to assist us further.      We Need your Help

If you are cleaning out cupboards, downsizing, tidying up or just getting rid of stuff, consider donating your bits and pieces to our “Rotary Raffle”.  Could be ornaments, trinkets, toys, pictures, soaps, perfumes, cards – anything that you think would enhance the basket of goodies that Marion tastefully boxes and presents professionally. Ask your friends, relatives, and neighbours for donations of items should they be having a clean out.

One lady recently donated a porcelain doll which had never been taken out of its box – it looked brand new. Melissa donated a diamond art picture and will continue to do one for each raffle.
Please either bring your items to our Club meetings or contact Marion Simon and Barry Lane to arrange collection of suitable items.
